Modern Art, an auction style game whereby the art cards are assigned a value based on the frequency of appearance, it is luck-based but can also require a bit of skill to play. It can get very competitive, which is what I like about this game. The math-aspect may put off some potential players, however.
The purpose of the game is to earn the most money, and money is obtained by either selling art or purchasing art at a price lower than generated value (the value is generated at the end of each round).
Reiner Knizia is one of the most well known board game designers around the world, and this game is gorgeous to look at and play with.
